Recently I have been helping with make-up for 'Neville's Island' a comedy drama opening at the Duke of York theatre I came onto the show knowing absolutely nothing about it except that it involved blood and mud - which it does in large quantity's! and we had great fun backstage setting up buckets of the stuff to daub our unfortunate actors with.
Having been lucky enough to get a sneak preview of the performance I can now tell you that Neville's island tells the tale of four businessmen from Salford who get into trouble on a team building exercise when their boats sinks and they find themselves stranded on an island. As you can imagine the humour is quite dark at times especially in the case of Robert Webb's character 'Roy' who steals the show as a born again Christian bird watcher who has recently returned to work following a nervous break down! However its a great piece of British comedy and anyone looking for a show to take visiting relatives or friends to in the run up to xmas can't go far wrong with this, so book your tickets now folks! http://www.atgtickets.com/shows/nevilles-island/duke-of-yorks/
