On sunday I was back at the studio of designer Pierre Garroudi for another shoot with another fantastic creative team:Photgrapher was Sheradon Dublin , Stylist was the lovely Kerri Lyne, I was on hair and had a lot fun creating weird and victorian hairstyles, make up was by fabulous MUA and former Bulgarian folk dance Champion! Marina Angel models Eorann (left) and Aine This weekend I had the very interesting opportuning of working at the Miss London NABA 2011 beauty pagent. It is an event within London's Filipino community in which contestants are compeating for the opportunity to travel to canada and represent London as the city’s muse in North America’s prestigious intercity basketball tournament held on September 2-4 2011. This is the contestant who's make up I was applying, the lovely Miss fifi Trixibelle Komaira, winner of the miss photgenic section, well done Fifi! The other thing that took up a large chunk of last week was a music video for Italian Dj Benni Benassi with RSA films LTD I got this job courtesy of art director extrodinaire David Curtis-Ring who I don't think I've ever mentioned here before which is a terrible over sight on my part as the boys a fuckin genius, and has done quite a lot over the past couple of months towards keeping me employed, go and look at his website right now! GO!! http://www.davidcurtis-ring.blogspot.com
Monday I was back once again with the lovely Sarah Stedeford in her new Hackney studio for a 70's retro shoot, rather unusually in this day and age she was shooting on film for that authentic slightly overexposed 70's feel. Model was a very nice german girl from Cosmic models I can't remeber her name but I can tell you that she sings with a band called Miss terry blue (if you have a look she's the blonde one) and the stylist was from Brazil, she loves shoes, she prefers dogs to cats and she studies at The Istituto Marangoni, again I can't remeber her name URGH!!! anyway folks if you happen to read this and it sounds like you you were both fantstic to work with and I'm really looking forward to seeing the results, please remind me of your names!
Had great fun today doing some promotional shots for up and coming rock band The Curious Incident, this is there myspace have a listen : http://www.myspace.com/curiousincidentmusic The Curious Incident are an international band with members from South africa, Indoniesia, South America and the UK, and they all came to London to be rock stars. I was introduced to them a few weeks ago at a gig they played in Stockwell (Which was very good by the way) and somehow mangaged to convince them firstly that they wanted me to do their make-up and secondly that the way forward was comedy Moustaches, all except for singer Kyle (above) who became 'Tranny Granny' in hair rollers and lipstick rather worryingly he made a very convincing lady! As you can imagine we got some weird looks roaming the streets of South London! Photography Was done by a very nice Latvian guy called Maris - Maris if your listening If you'd given me your website I would put it up but you didn't so I can't.... Oops we have word from the lovely Maris, you can view his work here www.eliass.co.uk Anyway it was great day and I'm looking forward to seeing those pictures. On sunday I was working with photographer Nathalie kadas, (www.nathaliekadas.com) and stylist Shelley Safari (www.shelleysafar-interiordesign.com ) building a portfolio for exciting new Turkish model Metin Sonmez. Nathalie has an exhibition called into the night on at the moment at The Drawing Room, 42 southwick street, W2 1JQ I went to see it on Monday and was very impressed with her amazing compositions and use of chiaroscuro, a must see! Saturday I was in Holland park with up and coming photographer Faye sampson www.fayesampson.com and her assistants Stuart Berham and hannah Ranken. I was very impressed by the way model Eve (of Oxygen models) braved the subzero temperatures, to get some fantastic images
